Dispersal order in Brownhills |

We wanted to let you know the action we are taking today to combat anti-social behaviour in Brownhills. We've put a dispersal order in place in Brownhills town centre due to an increase in anti-social behaviour. The 24 hour section 35 dispersal order starts today at 4pm and covers the area shown on the map. We've put in extra policing powers which will allow us to disperse anyone engaging in anti-social behaviour and causing a public nuisance. We have also increased the number of officers in the area. Our neighbourhood team has been working with officers from Walsall’s Prevention Hub to address the issues. We’re also working with our partners including Walsall Council’s Community Enforcement Officers after we’ve seen an increase in young people taking part in anti-social behaviour. Inspector Nazia Kauser, neighbourhood policing manager for Brownhills and Aldridge, said: “We’ve seen a rise in unacceptable crime and anti-social behaviour and this needs to stop. “There has been thefts from shops, groups of young people intimidating and being aggressive to members of staff at local businesses and members of the community. “Any criminal behaviour reported will be investigated and appropriate action taken.” You can report anti-social behaviour by ringing 101. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 55111. We’ve launched our Mischief Fortnight campaign to help keep our communities safe during this busy period. As we get ready for Halloween and Bonfire Night, you'll see more police officers out and about in your neighbourhoods. They'll be keeping an eye on things to prevent crime and make sure everyone stays safe. Officers will be stepping up patrols in neighbourhoods and near popular event spots to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves safely and responsibly. If you want to report something suspicious call 101 or 999 in an emergency. For more advice and information about staying safe go to Spooky Season is here!
